What makes a strong tip
- Documents are gold — PDFs, photos, screenshots, recordings, public records.
- Names & dates: who, when, where.
- Why it matters: the public-interest hook.
- How you know: insider, witness, FOIA pull, second-hand.
How we handle sources
We do not publish or share source identities without explicit consent. We use end-to-end encrypted channels for sensitive material. We honor on/off-record agreements established before disclosure. Read our Editorial Standards for full sourcing policy.
What we don’t want
- Stolen credentials, passwords, or hacked-account material we cannot lawfully verify.
- Personal beefs without a public-interest angle.
- Material covered by ongoing litigation we’re not party to.
