DJT Backyard aims to be accessible to all readers. We follow WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.

What we’ve done

• Color contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA on body text in both light and dark themes.
• Keyboard navigation works on all interactive elements: theme toggle, hamburger menu, links, buttons, forms.
• Screen-reader support: ARIA labels on icons and toggles; semantic HTML for headings, lists, and landmarks.
• Reduced motion: the trending-bar rotator and image hover effects honor prefers-reduced-motion: reduce.
• Alt text on images. We’re actively backfilling alt text on older articles.

What we’re working on

• Captions on video embeds.
• Descriptive transcripts for long-form audio interviews.
• Better focus styling on form fields.
