DJT Backyard aims to be accessible to all readers. We follow WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
What we’ve done
- Color contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA on body text in both light and dark themes.
- Keyboard navigation works on all interactive elements: theme toggle, hamburger menu, links, buttons, forms.
- Screen-reader support: ARIA labels on icons and toggles; semantic HTML for headings, lists, and landmarks.
- Reduced motion: the trending-bar rotator and image hover effects honor
prefers-reduced-motion: reduce. - Alt text on images. We’re actively backfilling alt text on older articles.
What we’re working on
- Captions on video embeds.
- Descriptive transcripts for long-form audio interviews.
- Better focus styling on form fields.
